Overview

Vytwo Technologies, a leading innovator in cloud solutions, is looking for a skilled Azure SQL Database Administrator to join our remote contract team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of Azure SQL Databases, ensuring seamless data operations for our enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage Azure SQL Databases, including scaling, backups, and disaster recovery
• Monitor database performance using Azure Monitor, SQL Analytics, and custom dashboards
• Implement security best practices, compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA), and data protection strategies
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as index rebuilds, statistics updates, and fragmentation analysis
• Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines and database automation with Azure DevOps
• Troubleshoot complex issues related to connectivity, latency, and query execution
• Migrate on-premises SQL Server databases to Azure using best practices
• Provide 24/7 on-call support for production environments as needed

Location Details

Based in Prosper, Texas, United States, but fully remote.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration, with at least 3 years focused on Azure SQL Database
• Proficiency in Azure portal, Azure Data Studio, and T-SQL scripting
• Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and troubleshooting
• Experience with high availability solutions like Always On Availability Groups, failover clustering, and Azure SQL Managed Instance
• Familiarity with Azure security features including firewalls, encryption (TDE, Always Encrypted), and role-based access control (RBAC)
• Hands-on experience with data migration tools like Azure Database Migration Service (DMS)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate preferred
