Overview

USSOCOM is seeking a Senior Data Security Engineer (DRM Specialist) to join our Zero Trust Program at MacDill AFB. This critical role involves architecting and deploying advanced data protection strategies to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive military data in a zero-trust environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of DRM solutions for classified data assets
• Develop and enforce Zero Trust policies, including continuous verification, micro-segmentation, and least-privilege access
• Conduct threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing on data pipelines and storage systems
• Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (intelligence, operations, IT) to align security with mission objectives
• Monitor and respond to security incidents using advanced analytics and AI-driven tools
• Ensure compliance with DoD directives, DISA STIGs, and emerging cybersecurity frameworks
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to strategic security roadmaps

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in data security engineering, with proven expertise in Digital Rights Management (DRM) and Zero Trust architectures
• Deep knowledge of encryption protocols, access controls, identity management (e.g., IAM, MFA), and secure data transmission
