Kickstart your software development career at Buildpad as a Junior Python Developer! This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or aspiring developers with basic Python skills. Work remotely on real-world projects, receive hands-on mentorship, and grow your expertise in Python and modern web technologies. No prior professional experience required – just enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and fundamental programming knowledge.
Buildpad is seeking a motivated Junior Python Developer to join our fully remote team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity for beginners to dive into professional software development, working alongside experienced engineers who provide dedicated mentorship and guidance.
As a Junior Python Developer, you'll start by assisting with simple tasks and gradually take on more responsibility. Your day-to-day will involve writing clean, readable Python code for backend services, debugging scripts, and collaborating on features for our innovative web applications. You'll use Python 3.x, along with beginner-friendly frameworks like Flask or Django basics, to build APIs and automate processes. Expect to learn Git for version control, SQL for basic database interactions with PostgreSQL or SQLite, and tools like Docker for containerization – all introduced through structured onboarding and pair-programming sessions.
Our remote-first culture ensures flexibility: work from anywhere with asynchronous communication via Slack and Notion for documentation. Daily stand-ups happen on Zoom or Microsoft Teams, twice-weekly retrospectives foster team input, and we use Jira for task tracking. You'll have a mentor assigned from day one for 1:1 code reviews, learning sessions on best practices like PEP 8 style guidelines, unit testing with pytest, and agile methodologies.
This role emphasizes growth potential. We provide access to online courses (e.g., Python-focused platforms like Codecademy or freeCodeCamp), internal workshops on RESTful APIs, virtual environments with venv/pip, and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. Opportunities to contribute to open-source elements of our projects will build your portfolio. With quarterly performance reviews, you'll chart a path toward mid-level roles, potentially specializing in data processing or web scraping.
We're looking for team players eager to learn in a supportive environment. No need for advanced knowledge – we'll teach you agile sprints, TDD basics, and how to deploy apps to cloud platforms like Heroku or AWS Lightsail. Join us to turn your Python passion into a thriving career at Buildpad, where innovation meets accessibility for entry-level talent.
The employer recommends obtaining this certification to validate your skills and enhance your application.
Note: You can still apply for this position without certification, but having it will make your profile stand out and may be required to move forward in hiring process.
