Contabo, a leading European provider of cloud hosting and VPS solutions, is seeking a Lead Software Developer to spearhead our development efforts in building robust, scalable infrastructure.

As the Lead Software Developer, you will:

• Architect and implement core features for our cloud platform, ensuring high performance and reliability.

This is a remote contract position ideal for experienced developers passionate about cloud computing. Work from your home office anywhere in Germany, with the backing of a stable, growing company committed to innovation since 2003.

• 5+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role
• Proficiency in backend technologies such as Go, Python, or Java, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar)
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience leading teams, mentoring juniors, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to architect scalable, high-availability systems
• Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible)
• Fluency in English; German is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
