The Role

As an Oracle Database Administrator (m/f/d), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our Oracle database infrastructure. This remote contract position is based in Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, offering flexibility while supporting our innovative aviation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Oracle databases in production, test, and development environments
• Implement and manage database backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery plans
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries for efficiency
• Configure and troubleshoot high availability setups including Oracle RAC and Data Guard
• Apply security patches, manage user access, and ensure compliance with industry standards
• Collaborate with developers and system architects to design scalable database solutions
• Document processes and provide 24/7 on-call support as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator
• Proficiency in Oracle Database 12c/19c administration, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades
• Strong knowledge of SQL tuning, backup/recovery strategies (RMAN), and high availability solutions (Data Guard, RAC)
• Experience with performance monitoring tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager and AWR reports
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Fluency in English; German is a plus
