About the Role

Questrade Financial Group is seeking a Principal Full Stack Engineer to spearhead our Crypto and Alternative Trading Products team. In this leadership position, you will architect and implement end-to-end solutions that power next-generation trading platforms for cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and alternative assets. Working remotely, you'll collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver secure, performant, and user-centric applications that handle high-volume transactions and real-time market data.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop full-stack applications integrating frontend (React/Vue) with backend services (Node.js/Go/Python) and blockchain nodes
• Lead technical initiatives for crypto wallet integrations, smart contract interactions, and trading engine optimizations
• Ensure platform scalability, security (e.g., KYC/AML compliance), and reliability under extreme loads
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster best practices in agile environments
• Collaborate on product roadmaps, prototyping new features like tokenized assets and cross-chain trading
• Stay ahead of industry trends in Web3, DeFi, and fintech regulations

• 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (React, Node.js, etc.)
• Deep expertise in blockchain technologies, crypto APIs, wallets, and DeFi protocols
• Proficiency in cloud services (AWS/GCP), microservices, and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong knowledge of financial trading systems, real-time data processing, and security best practices
• Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to mentor junior engineers
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (advanced degrees preferred)
