About the Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll architect and implement high-performance backend services that power decentralized applications on the Stellar network. This remote contract position offers the chance to contribute to cutting-edge projects in DeFi, payments, and tokenized assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend APIs and services integrated with Stellar's Horizon API and Soroban platform
• Optimize system performance for high-throughput blockchain transactions
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and protocol teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Implement security best practices, including encryption and secure multi-party computation
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment using modern DevOps practices
• Stay updated with Stellar ecosystem advancements and contribute to open-source initiatives

• 5+ years of experience in backend development, preferably with blockchain or distributed systems
• Proficiency in languages like Go, Rust, or Haskell used in Stellar ecosystem projects
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, APIs (REST/GraphQL), and databases (PostgreSQL, Redis)
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with Stellar protocol, Soroban smart contracts, or similar blockchain technologies
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
