Overview

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at SAP, you will play a pivotal role in transforming our software development lifecycle through advanced automation, cloud-native architectures, and robust CI/CD pipelines. Based in Reston, Virginia, you will work remotely with our distributed global teams to ensure seamless deployment and scalability of enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, and ArgoCD to accelerate delivery cycles.
• Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters and containerized environments on major cloud providers.
• Develop infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible to provision secure, scalable resources.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and product teams to integrate observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and logging solutions.
• Automate operational tasks with Python scripting and ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and security compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive DevOps best practices across the organization.
• Participate in on-call rotations to maintain production system reliability.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles
• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with hands-on experience in infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Proficiency in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD)
• Experience with configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
• Scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or Go
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and experience with agile methodologies
