We are looking for a talented Senior Embedded Systems Engineer with a focus on operator interaction to join our innovative team on a remote contract basis. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize embedded software solutions that create seamless and intuitive user interfaces for operators in industrial machinery and automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop embedded applications for HMI displays, touch interfaces, and control panels using C/C++ and real-time operating systems.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, UX designers, and product managers to define interaction requirements and prototypes.
• Ensure high reliability, safety, and responsiveness of operator interfaces under real-world conditions.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and optimization for performance and power efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in embedded systems using advanced debugging techniques.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies in embedded UI and contribute to best practices.

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field
• At least 5 years of professional experience in embedded systems development
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded environments
• Experience with embedded UI frameworks (e.g., Qt, LVGL, or custom graphics libraries)
• Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) like FreeRTOS or Zephyr
• Familiarity with communication protocols (CAN, Modbus, Ethernet/IP) and hardware interfaces
• Understanding of human-machine interaction (HMI) principles and safety standards (e.g., ISO 13849)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and experience with debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
• Fluency in English; German is a plus
• Ability to work independently in a remote contract setting
