As a Senior Performance and Scale Engineer on the OpenShift AI Platform, you will play a pivotal role in making AI accessible at enterprise scale. Red Hat's OpenShift is the leading Kubernetes platform, and our AI extensions empower organizations to deploy, manage, and scale AI models efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize performance bottlenecks in AI inference, training pipelines, and vector databases
• Design and implement scalability solutions for multi-tenant, high-throughput AI clusters
• Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance GPU/TPU utilization, networking latency, and storage I/O
• Conduct benchmarks, chaos engineering, and capacity planning for global deployments
• Contribute to open-source projects and upstream Kubernetes/OpenShift enhancements
• Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices in observability and monitoring

This is a REMOTE_CONTRACT position, offering flexibility to top talent worldwide.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in performance engineering, scaling distributed systems, or cloud-native platforms
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes/OpenShift, container orchestration, and AI/ML infrastructure
• Proficiency in performance profiling tools (e.g., flame graphs, perf, pprof) and languages like Go, Python, or C++
• Strong understanding of Linux kernel, networking, storage, and hardware optimization
• Experience with large-scale data processing, GPU acceleration, and AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, open-source environment
