The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking a dynamic Team Leader – Strategic Philanthropy and Innovative Giving to spearhead innovative resource mobilization efforts. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing strategies that attract high-impact philanthropic investments to support UNDP’s mission of eradicating poverty, reducing inequalities, and tackling climate change.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of strategic philanthropy frameworks, identifying opportunities for innovative giving models such as impact investing, blended finance, and corporate philanthropy.
• Build and nurture relationships with major donors, foundations, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals to secure multi-year commitments.
• Oversee a team of philanthropy specialists, providing mentorship and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Design data-driven campaigns and proposals that highlight UNDP’s impact and leverage storytelling for donor engagement.
• Collaborate with UNDP’s global teams to integrate philanthropy into broader resource mobilization strategies.
• Monitor trends in global giving, innovate fundraising approaches, and report on team performance and ROI.

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in international relations, business administration, philanthropy, nonprofit management, or a related field
• Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in strategic philanthropy, resource mobilization, fundraising, or partnership development, preferably in an international organization or nonprofit sector
• Proven leadership experience managing teams and projects in philanthropy or innovative giving
• Strong understanding of global philanthropy trends, donor landscapes, and innovative financing mechanisms
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional UN languages is an asset
• Experience with CRM systems and data analysis for donor management preferred
