In this role, you will play a pivotal part in documenting complex configuration management processes for aerospace and defense systems, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and usability of all technical materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation including configuration management plans, procedures, baselines, and reports
• Collaborate with engineers, program managers, and subject matter experts to gather requirements and translate technical concepts into user-friendly content
• Ensure all documentation adheres to DoD standards, CM policies, and contractual obligations
• Review and revise existing documents for clarity, consistency, and compliance
• Manage version control and document lifecycle using tools like Git or CM software
• Support audits, reviews, and training sessions with high-quality written materials

This is a full-time, on-site position at Pope AFB, with potential for hybrid flexibility based on mission needs.

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, or related field; advanced degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in technical writing/editing, with at least 2 years focused on configuration management (CM) processes
• Proficiency in CM standards such as MIL-STD-973, EIA-649, or ISO 10007
• Strong knowledge of tools like Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, or similar authoring software
• Experience with DoD documentation standards and security clearance (Secret level preferred)
• Excellent grammar, style, and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, classified environment
